April 2006 Update

So it's the middle of May and I'm trying to remember what we did in April. I remember we had great weather. It seemed like the trees leafed out much earlier than usual.

We started swimming lessons around the 13th of April. She LOVES to swim. Not into following directions however, and is more interested in seizing toys instead of listening to the instructor. At least she enjoys being in and around the water and as long as it's warm out, she can handle being in the water. Last week it was really cold at the Y, especially the water. We had to cut short the lesson because her little lips were purple and she couldn't stop shivering.

Her last two bottom teeth finally popped through. That was a struggle and based on her demeanor and sleep, I'd say she's working on her two year molars...Oh what fun.

Uncle Rob left for Chicago in early April - we had a great party for him. Mira helped me make lots of tasty morsels for the party and she was up way past her bedtime, but was smiley through it all.

We also went up to the North Shore for a long weekend to celebrate Don's birthday. We shared a three bedroom cabin with Don, Amy, Greta and the dogs. Ate like kings, stayed up too late, slept in as much as the bebes would let us, and did some hiking as well. We made it to Cascade Park and then on the way home stopped at Temperance River to let Mira stretch her legs before the long drive home. It was very beautiful and it tuckered her out - she slept until we were about an hour from home!

Oma's been staying with us for the last couple of weeks. It's been nice to have another body around here to help run point with the child. She made this awesome dress for Mira in a matter of hours. I think Mira really likes it!
