June 2005 Update

June 5th, 2005

Bath-time in the sink! I'm sure this is after one of our forays into self feeding. As this was the first time in the sink, Mira went nuts and tried to grab everything in sight. Once I secured the dish-soap, she was after the sponge. After the sponge was out of the way, she was onto the dishes. Got my workout that night.

It was during this week that she had three, yes three, teeth pop through. All on the top. I wrote in my journal that she did not want to be put down at all and was very needy. Gee, I wonder why??? We were also trying to introduce food as well. That didn't work out so well, either. Again, looking back, I wonder why? Why is it so hard to figure out these things when we are in the thick of it? I hope with the next one I'll remember some of this stuff.

Oh, and the CUTE little t-shirt she's wearing is from her Uncle Rob.

When Mira was still a newborn, the only way we could get her to sleep was to put her on our chest like in the picture. As she's gotten older, this doesn't work all the time. Though, now when I nurse her down at night and try to sneak away, she pushes me onto my back and crawls up onto my chest in a heartwarming attempt to keep me there! I'm glad Mike got a picture of this. Very Sweet.

This was taken while Mira and I were in the backyard waiting for Daddy to get home. I love the little shirt. I wrote in my journal that day that she started this new thing where she would crinkle her nose and do a funny, sniffy laugh. I haven't seen her do that in a while. Getting to be such a big girl.

This was taken on a Sunday. We took Mira down to the wading pool in our neighborhood. The water was a little cold for her and the older kids scared her a little bit. Have you ever seen such a cute bathing suit? I hope that it fits next year. This was the last weekend before Claire got here.

Looking at these pictures, today is September 17th, I realize how quickly she changes. She's got so much more hair now than she did just three months ago. She began pulling herself to a standing position in that month. She also really began to say mama and dada indiscriminately. I also wrote that she rolls over like a champ, sits like a pro, and mastered her pincer grasp. And I believe that she started to crawl - army style in June. It may have been July. Not sure.
