February 2005 Update

February 11th, 2005

Here are some things I'd like to remember about you:

When you were a month or so old (not so long ago), when you would breast feed, like a magnet, you'd shake your head back and forth, honing in on the nipple.

When you sleep, you suckle in your dreams, your little mouth moves up and down.

When I help you stand, your eyes are wide open and your brow is interested in all that is around you. You realize you are seeing things from a different perspective and it's all amazing. You lean forward a little and just look pleased as punch with yourself!

I love the way you stretch in the morning. You are in just a diaper, and under the sheets, your arms stretched high above your head, your little legs kicking, your lips pursed like you've got so much to do today, hurry up mom, let's get out of bed!

I love the way you pump your top leg when nursing!

The way you flap your wings, naked or in the tub.

February 13th, 2005

Your daddy and I think we see a tooth! It's very early but your are an advanced baby!

We went to the API meeting yesterday and it was about Family Balance and I can't remember anything that was said!

And last night you rolled over (mostly)!! Your left arm was trapped under your chest, but you definitely got yourself over.

I love the gulping noises you make when nursing, the delicate movements of your fingers, the way you kick during a diaper change. And, dear heart, I love your poots! Those little blasts that are as loud as daddy's!

February 11th, 2005

Here are some things that your Daddy loves about you:

When you are not expecting to see him (like when he comes home from work), and you look up and smile with surprise and delight.

When you take a break from nursing to smile at him.

When you were smaller, your poopy face!

He also loves to look at you sleeping peacefully with mama before he goes to work.

We both absolutely adore your beautiful eyes! And your button nose, and ears, and smooth smooth skin, and mouth and fingers and itty bitty feeties. Can't leave out your belly button, or your chin and cute little heinie and your monkey toes!

February 19th

Mira - you rolled over today all by yourself! Earlier today your hand was stuck under you, but tonight you did it all by yourself, hands and all!!
