Happy Turkey Day

November 27th, 2005

Well, we had a full house this weekend for Thanksgiving! Mira LOVED having lots of people around, gushing over her. She also had a great time playing with her cousins, Baden and Bronagh. No major injuries and I made it through another Thanksgiving without killing anyone with salmonella poisoning!

The Best Birthday Present EVER!

November 17th, 2005

So Mira's been working on walking for about a month now, but since she took a nasty spill two weeks ago, she's definitely been reluctant to try. Today we went into the kitchen to share an apple - I left her standing at her activity center on the other side of the kitchen while I washed and peeled an apple. All of a sudden I hear little pitter patter behind me. Curious, I turned around to see her walking toward me. She made it the whole way across the room all by herself! She's going to spoil me - I'll begin to expect great things from her on my birthday. How's that for pressure.

Then my friend Amy came over and daddy came home early and she just was a walkin' fool! Oh, and we ordered Chinese takeout - lots of tasty-morsels, in addition to egg rolls, we also had cream cheese wontons, fried dumplings, AND General Tso's chicken. Extra extra YUMMM. And Mira chowed down on some broccoli - don't know where she got the green vegetable gene, certainly not from me.

And I'm working on the October update page as well. Been a little busy around here and since Mira's been learning to walk her sleep at night has been awful! I've been trying to nap with her during the day, but man that's hard to do! There's so much I want to do and soooo little time. Oh well. Someday.
